Senior Digital Media Compressionist

The Digital Media Compressionist role involves encoding for a multitude of file-based Media formats and platforms,
predominantly for Blu-ray, DVD & VOD

Applicants must be familiar with a variety of file-based encoding systems and platforms, spanning from VOD to mobile content delivery, both hardware & software. This knowledge must be complemented with considerable SD & HD videotape operating experience.

You must demonstrate an in-depth knowledge and experience of encoding and compression techniques, along with strong organisational and team management skills.

Your day to day routine will include the following;
• Scheduling workflow and ensuring project deadlines dates are completed,
• Maintaining our storage and ingest environment,
• Training of staff within your team,
• Focusing on our future developments in content management, digital delivery, VOD, BDJ- live and 3D blu-ray.

We are looking for an individual who has a passion for encoding, someone who works efficiently under pressure and effectively with their assigned team members.

An interest in keeping up with current and emerging technologies within the Online, Mobile & Blu-ray industry always helps.

Essential knowledge and skills:
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Experienced VT operating background with knowledge of: NTSC and PAL systems; frame rates and resolution; SDI, HDSDI, Component and Composite signals.
• Computer and IT skills
• Strong understanding of file delivery formats, multiplexing techniques, - Streaming and file management handling.
Salary dependent on experience.
